Essential Oils Can Support a Healthy Lifestyle

Essential oils are meant to be used to support a healthy lifestyle.  What does this really mean?  It means that they can be natural things for the everyday health. There are so many ways that they can be used, but since they are organic compounds, certain ones may work for you, and others may not.  There are a lot of books out there to help figure out the best use, so you will need to get a reference book to make sure that you know what the different oils are.

Some of my favorite oils and how I have been using them.

Lemon Oil:  I put a couple of drops in my water every day (you can not use citrus in a plastic cup).

Peppermint: My husband is absolutely in love with peppermint.

Copaiba, Frankinsence, melaleuca, lavender, peppermint:  These are all of the ingredients to a foot cream that I have made that is helping my dry  feet.  This combination seems to help soften my skin.

Pain:  This is a blend of different oils that my husband enjoys having me rub on his back.

In my research into essential oils I learned that the majority of essential oils that you can buy from the store (like Whole Foods or Sprouts)  can be extremely diluted with regular oil.  All of the bottles of oils at the  stores say “do not take internally” and “do not apply directly to the skin.” So I became more interested in oils that did claim to be therapeutic grade and safe for more therapeutic use.   The majority of essential oil companies buy their oils from an oil broker and the company isn’t actually involved in the process of cultivating the plants or extracting the oils at all so they don’t have the full story on how the oil has been extracted and the purity of the oil.  You really have to research the company to make sure that they are skilled in getting good pure, quality oils.  You want to choose a company that provides testing results of their oils to show that they are pure and unadulterated.
