Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies
I kind of thought that most chocolate chip cookies were the same and they would all be delicious, but it turns out that is not the case. I recently made some from a different recipe and they were good, but really not great. Usually when we make cookies, they disappear really fast and it is hard to stop eating them, but this time they sat around for a while and one cookie was really all that anyone wanted at a time. So I decided that I needed to write down the cookie recipe that I use the most so that I would have it readily available rather than use a random not so great recipe.
I also really love to put mint chips into the recipe which makes it even better, but mint chips are hard to find. You have to stock up on them when they come out around christmas time. I think that what makes this recipe really good is the amount of salt that the recipe calls for. You really need the right amount of salt in order to bring out the perfect balance between sweet and salty.
So, without further ado, here is the basic chocolate chip cookie recipe that is delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- ¾ Cup granulated sugar
- ¾ Cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/3 cups all purpose flower
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 12oz package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375 degrees
- Beat butter, both sugars and vanilla on medium speed until creamy. Beat in eggs until light and fluffy.
- Blend in flour, soda and salt on low speed until mixed. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake 8-11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes; remove to wire racks.
